Dental Tourism, Step by Step

From Your Front Door to Our Chair

Flying in from another country for treatment? Five steps, in order. Most patients find the whole trip simpler than they expected.

  1. Before

Plan the treatment, then the trip

WhatsApp us photos and your dates — we’ll confirm what’s possible and how many visits it takes. Then: check your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your return date, download the Grab app and register with your home number, and book your hotel. Within the three days before you land, submit the free Malaysia Digital Arrival Card online.

  2. Arrival

    Land, clear immigration, get connected

Immigration will check your MDAC. Before you leave the terminal, pick up a tourist SIM if you want local data (passport needed) and draw some ringgit from an ATM — choose to be charged in ringgit, not your home currency.

  3. To hotel

Book a Grab from the terminal

Go to the e-hailing pick-up area first — Terminal 1: Level 1 of the Main Terminal Building (arrivals is Level 3, take the lift down). Terminal 2: Level 1 of the Transportation Hub, through the gateway@klia2 mall. Then book in the app: the fare shows before you confirm. As of October 2026 a standard Grab to Sri Hartamas typically quotes roughly RM70–130, with expressway tolls of about RM10–20 added on top. The drive is 45–60 minutes off-peak, longer in rush hour or rain.

  4. Check-in

Settle in a few minutes from the clinic

The Signature Hotel & Serviced Suites Hartamas is the nearest hotel to us — about 150 metres along the same streets, with restaurants, cafés, convenience stores and pharmacies all around it. Details below.

  5. Clinic

    Walk over for your appointment

We’re at No. 22-2, Jalan 24/70A — the corner lot with Burger King at street level; we’re upstairs. Everything here is by appointment, so arrive about ten minutes early and message us if you’re running late. Open Monday to Friday 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Every price on this page is third-party, indicative and dated October 2026 — not set or guaranteed by Dental K. The fare in your app and the rate at the hotel are what apply.

Where to Stay

The Nearest Hotel to the Clinic

The Signature Hotel & Serviced Suites Hartamas Kuala Lumpur is about 150 metres from Dental K — two or three minutes’ walk through the Desa Sri Hartamas shoplots. You won’t need a Grab between the two.

Rooms are serviced studios and suites, listed with a refrigerator and a microwave — handy if you’re on soft food after treatment. Rooms start from around RM150 a night (checked October 2026 — rates vary by date and room). Breakfast is extra; the hotel’s site lists it at around RM28 a person.

We have no arrangement with the hotel and earn nothing from it — it’s simply the closest. Book direct on the hotel’s website or compare Booking.com, Expedia and Trip.com; rates and cancellation terms differ by channel and date, so check live prices for yours. Some booking sites drop “Hartamas” from the name — it’s the same property.

  • 3, Jalan Sri Hartamas 22, Desa Sri Hartamas, 50480 Kuala Lumpur · +603 6412 0888
  • Rooftop pool and gym, free WiFi, one parking space per room — as listed on the hotel’s own site, October 2026
  • Prefer somewhere else? Mont Kiara and Publika are five minutes away by Grab, and any hotel there works just as well

Getting Around

Grab, Step by Step

Malaysia's ride-hailing app — the easiest way in from the airport or the station, and for any trip around Kuala Lumpur.

1

Download it before you travel

Free on the App Store and Google Play. Register with your mobile number — the code arrives by SMS; an overseas number works too. Add a credit or debit card before your first ride, or choose to pay the driver in cash.

2

At the airport, go to the pick-up point first

Drivers have a ten-minute kerbside limit, so walk to the e-hailing area before you book. Terminal 1: Level 1 of the Main Terminal Building. Terminal 2: Level 1 of the Transportation Hub. Follow the e-hailing signs and the pick-up point the app shows you. KL Sentral and TBS have signed e-hailing bays too.

3

Book, match the plate, go

The fare appears before you confirm; tolls are added at the end. The standard option is fine for one or two people with suitcases — pick the six-seater for more. The app shows the driver’s name, car and plate: match the plate before you get in, and use Share My Ride if you’d like someone at home to follow along.

Grab runs around the clock, but after midnight there are fewer drivers, so expect longer waits and higher fares. Prefer not to use an app? Prepaid coupon taxis are sold 24 hours a day in the arrival halls — roughly RM75–85 to central KL as of 2026, with a surcharge late at night; confirm the price at the counter. Or take the KLIA Ekspres train — RM55, about 28 minutes to KL Sentral, every 20 minutes as of October 2026 — and a Grab from there.

Visiting From Abroad

The Practical Things Before You Fly

Entry: the arrival card

Most visitors must submit the free Malaysia Digital Arrival Card within the three days before arrival, at imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac. A new one is needed for each visit. Use the official site only — anyone charging a fee for it is not official.

Visas

As of October 2026: UK and Canadian citizens may visit visa-free for up to 90 days, most ASEAN nationals for 30, and Indian and Chinese citizens for 30 days under exemptions announced to run until 31 December 2026. Many other nationalities are also visa-free — check your own government’s travel advice or imi.gov.my. Short dental visits are normally done on an ordinary tourist entry, but we’re a dental clinic, not immigration advisers — if in any doubt, ask the Malaysian embassy before you book flights. Your passport should be valid for six months beyond your departure.

Money

Malaysia uses the ringgit (RM). As a rough guide on 15 October 2026: US$1 ≈ RM4.08, £1 ≈ RM5.41, €1 ≈ RM4.58, A$1 ≈ RM2.84, S$1 ≈ RM3.18 — rates change daily. Visa and Mastercard are widely accepted at hotels, malls and chain restaurants; small eateries are often cash-only. ATMs are everywhere. A few hundred ringgit covers day-to-day spending. At the clinic, you can pay by credit card.

Staying connected

Tourist SIMs are sold at the airport — as of October 2026, Hotlink’s Travel SIM starts around RM25 for seven days, and CelcomDigi and U Mobile sell similar plans. Bring your passport; it’s required to register. Travel eSIMs work too, for data only. Malaysia uses UK-style three-pin sockets at 230–240 V — no adapter if you’re from the UK, Singapore or Hong Kong.

Day to day

Drink bottled or filtered water rather than tap. Tipping isn’t expected — many restaurants add a 10% service charge, and drivers don’t expect a tip. In an emergency, dial 999. The country code is +60.

If something else comes up

Private healthcare in Malaysia is charged per service, so travel with insurance that covers you abroad. For a non-dental emergency, ParkCity Medical Centre has a 24-hour emergency department a short drive away. For anything about your teeth, WhatsApp us first — day or night, we’ll tell you what to do.

Coming From Within Malaysia

Outstation Patients

Not flying in from abroad but travelling from Penang, Ipoh, Johor Bahru, Kuantan, Sabah or Sarawak? However you're getting to KL, Desa Sri Hartamas is easy to reach.

1

Driving

Search Dental K Desa Sri Hartamas in Waze or Google Maps and follow it in. We sit just off the Penchala Link, Jalan Duta and the Sprint highway, so you come straight off the PLUS or the DUKE without crossing the city centre. Parking is on the street around the clinic, at RM1 an hour — message us when you’re close and we’ll tell you where the spaces usually are. As a rough guide, allow about two hours from Melaka, two and a half from Ipoh, three from Kuantan, and four from Penang or Johor Bahru, more in holiday traffic.

2

Train or bus

ETS trains from the north and south arrive at KL Sentral; from there a Grab to us takes about 15–25 minutes and typically costs roughly RM15–25. Most express buses end at TBS (Terminal Bersepadu Selatan) — about 30–45 minutes and roughly RM25–40 by Grab. Some northern routes stop at Hentian Duta, about 15–20 minutes from us by Grab. Fares are indicative as of October 2026; the app shows yours before you confirm. New to Grab? It’s explained step by step above.

3

Flying in

From Sabah, Sarawak, Penang or Langkawi you’ll land at KLIA Terminal 1 or 2 — the airport Grab guidance above applies just the same, and the KLIA Ekspres train reaches KL Sentral in about 28 minutes. If your airline flies into Subang Airport (Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah) instead, you’re closer: about 20 km or 30 minutes from us by Grab, so check whether Firefly or Batik Air serve your route.

Single-visit treatments — check-ups, cleaning, fillings, bonding, whitening and, for suitable cases, one-day dentures — can be done as a day trip. Staying overnight? The hotel above is a two-minute walk from the clinic.

Quick Answers

How many visits will I need, and how long should I stay?

It depends on the treatment. Check-ups, whitening, bonding and fillings are usually a single visit. For suitable cases, complete dentures can be made and fitted in one day. Crowns and veneers typically need more than one, and braces or implants run over months with visits in between. We tell you exactly what your plan needs before you book any travel.

I'm outstation — can I do it as a day trip?

Often, yes. For a single-visit treatment we can book you a mid-morning or early-afternoon slot so you can drive or train in and back the same day. Tell us where you’re coming from when you message, and we’ll fit the time to your journey. A one-day denture is a full day, so arrive by 10 AM.

Can you give me a quote before I travel?

Yes. Send photos on WhatsApp and we’ll give you an all-in quote and say how many visits to plan for. Your first visit confirms it in person — if anything is different from the photos, we’ll tell you before anything is started.

Where do I park?

Street parking around the clinic, at RM1 an hour. Message us on WhatsApp when you’re a few minutes away and we’ll tell you where the spaces usually are.

What happens if I need a follow-up after I've gone home?

WhatsApp us. We’ll advise remotely, and plan any follow-up around your trip rather than the other way round. If a treatment genuinely needs a return visit, we say so before you book, not after.

Do I have to stay at that hotel?

No — it’s simply the nearest, and we have no arrangement with it. Mont Kiara and Publika are five minutes away by Grab and have plenty of hotels and serviced apartments.

Is the clinic easy to find?

Search “Dental K Desa Sri Hartamas” in Grab, Google Maps or Waze. We’re on Jalan 24/70A, in the corner lot with Burger King at street level — come upstairs.

Will I be able to communicate?

Yes. Our team speaks English, Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia between them. Our website is also published in six languages, but that’s a separate thing from what the team speaks.
